Mary E. Leal, M.A., began her career as Fairborn, Ohio's first female police cadet in 1971. Mary has also worked as a supervisory case manager at Montgomery County Children's Services where she acted as a caseworker supervisor, the law enforcement liaison and teamed in founding the Sexual Abuse Response Team and Children's Medical Center. In 1983, she joined the Dayton Police Department as a sworn peace officer and instructor. She earned a Master of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice and Social Problems, from Wright State University in 2002. As an adjunct professor, Mary teaches Criminal Investigation, Cybercrimes, Death Penalty Law, Family Violence, Terror in American Schools and other Undergraduate and Graduate courses at Wright State University in Dayton.
