Alumni Profiles: Sung K. Ahn, ’83 and Eddie McClintock '91

Sung K. Ahn, ’83 M.S., Wright State University Graduate School

Sung Ahn graduated from Wright State University in 1983 with a Master of Science degree in statistics from the College of Science and Mathematics. Ahn received a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1987, specializing in time series analysis.  

Ahn has held visiting positions at the University of Tennessee, University of Maryland at College Park, and Pohang University of Science and Technology in Korea. He has been at Washington State University since 1989, and was chair of the Department of Management & Operations from 2006 to 2010. Ahn has authored or co-authored 45 journal articles and has given 88 professional presentations. He has been a reviewer for many professional journals, book chapters, and for the NSF. Ahn has been active in organizing conference sessions, has been a Fulbright Senior Specialist in Economics (2002–2006), and is the recipient of 17  by I Want This">grants. He visited the European University Institute as a Fernand-Braudel Senior Fellow during the spring semester of 2011. Ahn’s service work is far too extensive to enumerate. In the summer of 2009, he was selected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, a prestigious and rare honor in the statistics profession.  

Ahn’s career, in both scope and depth, exemplifies that of an outstanding Wright State alumnus. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ahn is a kind, respectful, friendly individual who is polite and accommodating.


Edward “Eddie” Theodore McClintock, ’91 B.A., College of Liberal Arts

 Eddie McClintock graduated from Wright State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from the College of Liberal Arts. He was a varsity wrestler on Wright State’s nationally recognized wresting team. Originally an art major, McClintock has worked with James Brown and Maynard Keenan of Tool where he designed the CD cover art for the band Puscifer. After moving to Los Angeles, he began a career in acting, starting in commercials and moving his way up to series television and feature films. 

McClintock currently portrays the role of Secret Service Agent Peter Lattimer on the Syfy seriesWarehouse 13, the most successful show in the Syfy Channel’s history. He has appeared in 10 pilots, starred in five network series, worked on several television movies, and made well over 45 guest appearances on over 25 different shows. McClintock starred in the series sitcom Stark Raving Mad with Tony Shalhoub and Neil Patrick Harris. This show won a People’s Choice Award. He appeared in the series A.U.S.A. with Scott Foley, Crumbs with Jane Curtin and Fred Savage, andHolding the Baby with Jennifer Westfelt. He had recurring roles on Desperate Housewives, Friends,My Boys, Felicity, Ned and Stacey, and Roomates. He appeared in four episodes of Bones as FBI Special Agent Tim Sullivan. McClintock has also guest-starred on CSI, Fairly Legal, Sex and the City,Better off Ted, and The King of Queens. 

McClintock was born in North Canton, Ohio. He married Lynn Sanchez in 2005 and they have two sons, Jack and Max. Eddie continues to sell his original artwork and photography on his website: EddieMcClintock.com
