Faculty Profile: Bill Wood

Bill Wood is currently the director of the Financial Services Program within the Department of Finance and Financial Services of the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University. He has been an instructor in the Department since 1996.

Bill is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association. As an independently practicing financial planner with The Advisory Group, Bill has many years experience in personal and small business financial planning, including business retirement plans, personal retirement planning, education cost funding and estate planning.

As an active practitioner in the financial planning field, Bill brings to the classroom the real-world examples and applications of the academic theory and fact. An advocate of the case-study approach to learning, Bill brings the students into the classroom discussions and asks the leading questions that help tie concepts together.

As Bill says, “Our goal is to prepare students to make a meaningful contribution to their client’s personal and business success.”
