Catholic Campus Ministry’s New Project

The Catholic Campus Ministry at Wright State will soon be embarking on a long-awaited project, building a new chapel and center.

The project will commence on Sunday, March 4, at 1 p.m., with a Mass in Oelman Hall, followed by the rite of groundbreaking on our building site. A small reception will follow in the current building.

Situated on land owned by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, the current Campus Ministry building was built in 1970 as a “temporary” home for the campus ministry. Now, 42 years later, the building has certainly outlived its usefulness as the university has grown up around it. The new building will provide a larger, more contemporary space for Sunday Mass, accessibility for all, meeting space for our student organization and others, a gathering place for our students, and a building that will enhance the university’s campus.

Catholic Campus Ministry is a ministry of the Roman Catholic Church, serving the entire Wright State Community, welcoming all wish to join in worship, education, and fellowship. For more information, please contact Fr. Ed Burns at edward.burns@wright.edu.
